Turhan Architects has a long family tradition in the design and construction field since 1970. The founders Emine and Mehmet Turhan had both graduated with coequal degrees in architecture and architectural engineering in the 70’s, and since then they have been active in the architectural scene.
Today the tradition is sustained and expanded by the participation of the second generation architects and engineers, Ugur and Gul Turhan under the name Turhan Architects.

As an architectural firm, we value creating spaces with a sense of place, time and identity. We try to integrate a multi-sensory approach to achieve this. Our process of design usually begins with an observation of the site and analysis of the context. An analysis of local materiality, patterns, textures and forms, everyday activities and the surrounding landscape or urban morphology gives us an idea for how to approach the particular commision at hand. It is perhaps, not possible to emphasize enough how important the particularity of each design is. Our contextual approach is to help create adaptable, sustainable, and developing environments.
At Turhan Architects, we provide our customers with a range of services such as project concept designs, application projects, and detailed solutions, including BIM systems and 3D rendering, consultancy services before, during, and after the construction.

For us, engineering is an essential part of the design and is integrated very early in the planning process. Much like architectural design, engineering processes begin with an analysis of local materials, construction conventions and regulations. Which then continues with the selection of the most functional and economic solution compatible with the design. Since engineering solutions are integrated early in the process, they can have an important effect on architectural design. Such an approach ensures details that function from the beginning of the design process. Every detail of engineering projecs are carefully examined by the design team to achieve full compatibility between various elements of design and processes of construction.
